THE WIZARD OF CASH

When you step into THE UNIVERSE OF SEEING MONEY, you may find it strange at first. That's okay. We think that you have strange beliefs about art and money too. Come inside our Universe and play and dream and imagine how it could be.

THE WIZARD OF CASH

admission?

That's right. THE UNIVERSE OF SEEING MONEY has value, so it's not free. You can only enter by paying a modest admission fee.

For adults, that's about the cost of a double tall latte and a scone.

For kids, it's even less.

Remember: We are willing to pay for that which is important to us.

Each time you spend money, you express who you are and what is important to you.

Shh! Nice people don't talk about money, do they?

By its very nature, money—as a topic of interest—evokes a strong response. You are fascinated with money, but talking about money is the ultimate taboo...in your Universe. In THE UNIVERSE OF SEEING MONEY, talking is never forbidden. We encourage dialogues about money and everything else that is important to you—art, creativity, your dreams and desires!

What did you learn about money as a child?

Do you have the same beliefs today?

Money is neutral. It is our beliefs about money that dictate our attitudes and feelings. In The Universe of Seeing Money, art is the "catalyst" that helps us explore and examine our relationship with money.

THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE

Charity

When we share what we have with others, we are being charitable. Some of us worry that if we share what we have, there might not be enough. How much is enough?

Say aloud: I can create all that I need, so that I can share what I have with others.

Beneficiary

When we share with others, we are the "benefactor," and they become the "beneficiary" of our support. In THE UNIVERSE OF SEEING MONEY, there is always enough and we share freely what we have with others. During your visit, you can be a benefactor too by collecting art.

Art

THE UNIVERSE OF SEEING MONEY is all about art—money art—created by more than 125 artists from Portland, the Northwest and the world. We don't put art on a pedestal, because that would be unnatural. We live with art every minute of the day and can't imagine a world where art only belongs to a few. Art nurtures our soul and brings us joy.

Guess what? The art is for sale (except for a few pieces that have been borrowed for you to enjoy).

Remember: You spend money on what is important to you. Have you purchased a work of art before?

I am an Art Collector

Wow! Sounds great, doesn't it? When you buy art, you become a collector. Imagine the thrill of enjoying something that is so original that there is only one of it in the whole world. Imagine the artist who made it for you to enjoy. Imagine buying a work of art!

Buying art may change your life.

I am a Benefactor

When you buy art, you support the artist (that's important). In THE UNIVERSE OF SEEING MONEY, when you buy art, you also support others (that's important too). When you purchase a work of exhibited art, 15% or 25% of the sale price (depending on the work) will be given to one of THE WIZARD OF CASH'S favorite charities. If you purchase a work of art for $500, $75 or $125 will go to the charity that you choose.

Remember: The Benefactor (that's you) decides which charity receives your support.

SEEING MONEY Beneficiaries

I am an Artist

In The Universe of Seeing Money, everyone is an artist. Some of us make our living at it, and some of us don't .

Artist
1.
One who is skilled in any of the fine arts, especially painting, sculpture, etc.
2. One who does anything very well.

What do you do well?

Be a good Steward

A steward is someone who is responsible for taking care of something. In THE UNIVERSE OF SEEING MONEY, each of us is responsible for taking care of the planet, our country, our city, our neighborhood and ourselves. It's important to use our resources wisely. Money is a resource, which we spend wisely to create a better world for everyone.

How does money impact good stewardship and how we care for things?

If you were the Chief Steward, what would you do differently?
